A builder grade home looking to be more custom for their living.

This family came to me during the pandemic to adjust their home to accommodate their growing family needs.

The main goal was to make this great room area more functional for their everyday activities. They also planned to host their family during the upcoming holiday season and wanted a space that could support their desire for hosting in their home regularly.

The home extension was able to incorporate both a larger dining room and pantry. It also aided in creating a little nook for focused study activities. Being tucked away and with a lot of natural lighting encourages productivity. Plus, if it get's a little messy, it's largely invisible to the main area.

As for the furnishings, we leaned quite a bit into mid century modern silhouettes to bring in warmth and style. The warm wood tones, colorful art, and a smaller scale, circular coffee table for low stress play time.

The big personality pop is where this design comes to life and really creates dimension and depth. THAT WALLPAPER! I was quite pleased with its design and it's definitely a show stopper. I especially love how it differentiates the dining room as it's own space and thus will encourage different interactions than the rest of the space.
