This family came to me wanting to adjust their home to accommodate their growing family needs. They had a builder grade home looking to be tailored for their living.
The home extension was able to incorporate a larger dining room and pantry. It also created the opportunity for a small study space. Being tucked away and with a lot of natural lighting encourages productivity. Plus, if it get's a little messy, it's largely invisible to the main area.
As for the furnishings, we leaned into mid century modern silhouettes. The warm wood tones, colorful art, and a smaller scale, circular coffee table encourage low stress play time.
The big personality pop is where this design comes to life and really creates dimension and depth. THAT WALLPAPER! I was quite pleased with its design and it's definitely a show stopper. I especially love how it differentiates the dining room as it's own space and thus will encourage different interactions than the rest of the great room.
